Project Description

The Implementation team at BIU, in her quest to ensure quality and efficient design and management of her water supply projects, employed a BIM project manager/M&E Consultant Thinklab Design and Construction Firm and requires a development of a detailed BIM Project Execution Plan for successful implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) on the projects.

The BIM Project Execution Plan defines uses for BIM on the project (Example: design authoring, cost estimating, and design coordination), along with a detailed design of the process for executing BIM throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Execution Plan will provide for the establishment of protocols for the development, use, transmission, and exchange of digital data, defining expectations of Level of Development for Model Elements at various milestones of the project.

What we did

  • Conversion of Motorised Boreholes into Solar Powered
  • Conversion of existing Motorized powered Borehole without Overhead tank into solar powered
  • Conversion of existing Motorized powered Borehole into solar powered and construction of New Overhead tank
  • Drilling of New Solar Powered Boreholes
  • Rehabilitation of Solar Powered Boreholes

Final Results

A very important advantage offered by the BIM process is the centralization of the project information. This centralized information ensures everyone has access to the right information and at the right time. This centralized information also gives real-time information on the state of the project. You can see all the communication ongoing on the project. This gives quick insights about where issues are coming from on the project. This, in turn, enables the project manager to make more informed decisions over the project life cycle. This BIM-based approach to project management is what has enabled teams worldwide to meet time, budget, and scope constraints.
